Our research is conducted in well equipped facilities that include a synthesis laboratory, an instrumentation laboratory and a mechanical trials laboratory.
Of particular note among our laboratory equipment are:
- Metler Toledo DSC 822e calorimeter with a cryotank and TS080 robotic sampler
- Metler Toledo DSC 3+700/970 calorimeter with cryostat to -80ºC
- Mettler Toledo TGA / SDTA 851e thermoanalyzer
- DMA Q800 from TA Instruments with a GCA TA cryotank
- AR G2 Rheometer from TA Instruments
- Atlas Manual Press (Specac) with hot plates 15 tn with controlled heating up to 300ºC
- Zeiss Axiolab polarized light microscope with Linkam TP92 and LNP cool stages
- Caroblite TZF 12/38/400 programmable pyrolitic tubular furnace
- CEM microwave reactor
- Fire Testing Technologies limiting Oxygen Index device
- SCS P6700 Spincoater
- Natural and forced air convection ovens programmable up to 250ºC
- Ultraviolet radiation chamber with 320-390 nm DymaxECE 2000 UV light
- Universal Testing Machine (with a wide range of charge cells) with thermal chamber controlled up to 280ºC and accessories for testing traction, compression and bending
- Servo-hydraulic machine designed for static in-situ static and dynamic tests
- Micro-Durometer (with different types of indenter) with image analysis system
- Impact Machine (pendulum and dart impact)
- Wear and tear analysis equipment
- Vacuum furnace for thermal treatments
- Optic microscope with image capture and analysis system
- Thermal chamber with humidity control for material conditioning.
- Controlled thermal chamber (-10ºC-155°C) for analysing different load types.
- Data acquisition system (temperature, tension, resistence, etc.)
